The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Quicken Loans Arena on Sunday, February 8, 2009.
The Lakers played a fantastic second half both on offense and defense after playing a sub-par first half. The Lakers won the game 101 to 91, thus ending the Cavs perfect home record of 23 wins consecutively.
The Lakers contained LBJ to a lousy 16 points and a horrid shooting night. For the Lakers, Lamar Odom was the star of stars as he had a monster third quarter with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Overall, Odom had 28 points and 17 rebounds. Pau Gasol had a solid double double game and Kobe Bryant, playing ill with a flu-like symptoms had 19 points.
Kobe Bryant made his only shot, a high arching rainbow, in the fourth quarter over LBJ.
The Lakers conclude the road trip a perfect 6 wins and 0 lost. The Lakers were superb without Andrew Bynum for most of the trip. Get well soon BYNUM!
