As the president tries so hard to explain how the government can bring our great nation out of economic decline, we the people need to consider what the proper role of government is in a free society. The Constitution is clear that the proper role is to protect life, liberty, and property of individuals. To protect, not to provide for, and certainly not to deny any of these rights.

We heard more of the same from a President who has failed time and again to make good on his promises. President Obama has now been in office for more than a year and we now have an unemployment rate of almost 11 percent. Instead of working on real solutions that will help put people back to work, this Democrat Congress and Administration have used the economic downturn as an excuse to blow billions of taxpayer dollars on policies that are burying our kids and grandkids under mountains of debt.

President Obama …
President Obama means well. We have to understand the economy will not rebound immediately, but we have to keep hope. I do believe the money was excessive, but it helped. We have to balance the budgets in each state, each city, town and village across this country without laying off. That means maybe people cannot get raises this year. But it is better to have a job then nothing at all. We have to ensure gov’t is not wasting money. Listen to the speech and put parties aside.
